What Is MicroPsilium

The term MicroPsilium was coined in early 2022 by John Callahan the founder of Plant Health, LLC to educate people about two very effective molecules in mushrooms that have neurological benefits. In fact, we as humans in part came from Mycelium fungi, the microbial material that was part of the evolution of microbes on planet Earth. This is part of the reason why so many functional mushrooms are so immunologically active to humans.

MyCelium

While the detail behind mycelium and how it grows is a bit technical in biological terms, the simple description is to think of mycelium as the roots of a plant. While mushrooms are not technically plants because they do not photosynthesize like plants, they still are marvels of nature. For the mushroom, mycelium is the web-like root system that remains rooted to the ground, and yet is capable of branching out and surviving on its own outside of this area. This web-like system provides a stable and nutritious base for the fungi to start producing mushrooms more commonly known as the pinhead or Fruit Body.

When the hyphae of one spore meets the hyphae of another spore, they combine to being the amazing process of producing mycelium.

Medicinal Mushroom Replication

All mushrooms begin as a spore and produce and release spores from the gills that are located underneath the mushroom cap. Spores are produced as either male or female. Each mushroom is capable of producing hundreds of thousands of spores that can travel beyond the limits of the parent mushroom. As these spores are dropped, they can produce millions of other spores. Mushroom replication is quite amazing. Think of each spore as a single cell. Each ofthose cells is either male or female that ultimately group up with other spores to create male and female hyphae. The hyphae are groups of the same spore. When the hyphae of one spore meets the hyphae of another spore, they combine to being the amazing process of producing mycelium. Mycelium is like a nutrient in food, it is found within ALL mushrooms, even the poisonous ones that we do not want to consume.

Functional medicinal mushrooms are filled with nutrients such as Riboflavin, B-2, Folate, B-9, Thiamine, B-1, Pantothenic acid, B-5, Niacin, B-3, and many other B vitamins. Polysaccharides and Beta Glucans are also very healthy. Mushrooms pack a punch when it comes to vitamins and minerals including zinc, magnesium, copper, potassium, selenium, phosphorous, and antioxidants. They are also a fairly good source of fiber.

Psilocybin (The Magic Mushroom)

Psilocybin is a naturally occurring psychedelic compound produced by more than 200 species of fungi. The most potent are members of the genus Psilocybe, such as P. azurescensP. semilanceata, and P. cyanescens, but psilocybin has also been isolated from about a dozen other genera. Psilocybin is itself biologically inactive but is quickly converted by the body to psilocin, which has mind-altering effects similar to those of LSD, Mescaline, and DMT.

In general, the effects include euphoria, possible visual and mental hallucinations depending on the dose, changes in perception, a distorted sense of time, and perceived spiritual experiences. TOO MUCH can also cause adverse reactions such as nausea and panic attacks. This is where the term and process of micro dosing began, to see if people could get medicinal results at very LOW dosages over time. Imagery found on prehistoric murals and rock paintings of modern-day Spain and Algeria suggests that human use of psilocybin mushrooms predates recorded history. In Mesoamerica, the mushrooms had long been consumed in spiritual and divinatory ceremonies before Spanish chroniclers first documented their use in the sixteenth century.

Approval For Medical Research

The first US approval was September 2000 when Dr Ronald Griffiths a psychopharmacologist with Johns Hopkins university conducted studies with Magic Mushrooms (psilocybin) on patients with neurological conditions. His study showed that 30% of the patients reported in their own words that it was the most significant transformational event of their entire lives. Further, each patient reported positive changes in mood, behavior and sleep. Many stated it allowed them to let go of childhood programming and negative thought patterns. These studies have helped millions of people understand the benefits of natural chemicals (not manmade) as these natural molecules OPEN UP pathways in the brain, while most synthetic chemicals and prescription drugs BLOCK pathways in artificial ways which is why they have so many side effects.

Additional studies were approved in Switzerland in 2006, when Dr Peter Gasser requested approval from the ministry of health to conduct controlled clinical trials that the research continued. One army vet reported after treatment “today is the first day in seven years, the thought of killing myself didn’t even enter my mind”. This is significant and profound. States are beginning to approve the use of these substances for the sheer number of patients who have been cured of debilitating conditions. While this may not be a good business model due to the fact that some people can be cured in as little as one session, we must continue to make these materials available to those who need it without any goal of profit!

What is MicroPsilium

Amanita Muscaria contains absolutely no psilocybin, but the molecules are literally one branch of the molecule chain different. Psilocybin is the active ingredient in magic mushrooms and while studies showing the many benefits have been ongoing for over 40 years, they are still considered a Schedule I Drug by the United States Government. Recently, thousands of medical studies have proven that when these mushroom molecules are used in a safe controlled environment, both Amanita Muscaria and Psilocybin can be very effective for stress, chronic anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

Ibotenic Acid and Muscimol

Ibotenic acid and Muscimol are the properties of this mushroom that provide psychedelic effects. These two properties are closely related, and they are nearly identical in molecular structure, but when the Ibotenic acid becomes decarboxylated, which means to “heat up” it changes the molecule into Muscimol. Ibotenic acid can cause a wide range of affects that include drowsiness, slight euphoria, visual and auditory enhancements, and other psychotropic effects. Muscimol can produce similar effects but with some milder disassociated psychedelic effects so it is safer.

Amanita Muscaria Vs Psilocybin

The molecules are literally one branch of the molecule chain different. The effects of Psilocybin and Amanita Muscaria are very similar, and both compounds produce a mild to deep alteration in perception depending on the dose and the person’s metabolic absorption.

We have always stated and will continue to suggest small micro doses in order to find the right dose for you. Alterations are described by feelings of relaxation, ecstasy or blissfulness and an altered sense of awareness. In both cases, this experience is accompanied by a shift in sensitivity to anxiety and fear, as well as a shift of the consumers’ way of processing negative thoughts and emotions. For this reason, it has been used on people who have chronic anxiety, depression and PTSD in a safe and legal manner.

A major pinpoint towards this research can be attributed to the opening of the psychedelic research center at Johns Hopkins University, which debuted in 2020.  As well as treating depression, psilocybin has shown a fair amount of promise in addressing health conditions such as obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and alcohol dependence. Amanita Muscaria is an alkaloid compound that produces a slightly different effect, depending on the amount consumed. At low doses, Amanita Muscaria induces slight euphoria and increased energy, while higher doses can lead to hallucinations, disassociation, and heightened emotional states.

Amanita Muscaria Raw Versus Cooked

This depends highly on how much you consume. You can expect very different effects with a large dose. The most common effects are increased alertness, elevated mood, increased energy, feelings of wellbeing and hallucinations. Seems like fun, but if eaten raw without decarboxylation, you can feel an urge to purge, diarrhea and even vomiting which is not fun. So again…always start your protocol with a micro dose and slowly increase your dose as you assess the benefits for you. For this reason, we only sell a 5 and 10 pack of these gummies and we have branded them MicroPsilium.

Although Amanita Muscaria has been eaten raw by indigenous tribes for thousands of years without fatal effects many mycologists don’t suggest eating them raw, nor do we here at MyMushroomHealth. Some could attribute this to the fact that everyone’s digestive system processes these alkaloids differently, as well as the fact that dosage of these amazing mushrooms isn’t fully understood because everyone’s metabolism is unique. Small amounts are favorable to test and see how your body processes the molecule. Our products contain activated Mycelium and Amanita Muscaria to be as safe as possible.
